Chanel, along with the Museum of Modern Arts, honoured director Pedro Almodóvar at a function on Tuesday evening.
Held at MoMA in New York, the event raised funds to allow cinematic works to be added to the Museum’s collection.
Honorary co-chairs for the event were Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz. Co-chairs include Marie-Josee Kravis, president, and Jerry Espyer, chairman of the Museum’s Board of Trustees, with Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour.
In honour of the sponsor, Sarah Jessica Parker wore a grey chiffon embroidered gown with a navy sleeveless jacket from the Chanel cruise 2012 collection. Astrid Berges-Frisbey wore a white dress from the spring–summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection with the Chanel Première Perles watch. Lady Harlech wore a floral patterned dress from the autumn–winter 2011–12 haute couture collection.
Other Chanel-wearing celebrities included Blake Lively, Emma Stone, Alicia Keys, Elena Anaya, Elizabeth Olsen, Drew Barrymore, Chloë Moretz, Caroline Sieber, and Gaia Repossi.
Past honorees were Baz Luhrman, Tim Burton and Kathryn Bigelow.
