OPI has named Kerry Washington (Django Unchained, Scandal) as its first creative ambassador, which will see the Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actress co-curate its nail lacquer shades and developing shade names alongside co-founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann.
Weiss-Fischmann first approached Washington about the collaboration in spring 2015, and the actress accepted.
‘I am a huge fan of OPI and was ecstatic when Suzi approached me to partner with the brand,’ said Washington in a release. ‘I’m so inspired by Suzi and what she has built with the OPI brand.’
Said Weiss-Fischmann, ‘One of my favourite shows is Scandal. I noticed that the show was on the tip of everyone’s tongue from the boardroom to the water cooler, and Kerry had unquestionably become a role model for women everywhere. She truly empowers women of all ages—she is bold, fashionable and loves nail lacquer.’
Washington also serves as an ambassador for Movado and had previously been one of L’Oréal Paris’s signature faces.
