Lucire has gained a sister publication, one with a similar gestation to us.

Autocade has released a lavish Yearbook for 2024, giving the car world the same sort of informative, entertaining analysis that Lucire offers in our print magazines.

Like us, Autocade began online first, but it spent 15 years rather than our seven before the print edition became a reality. The method is also very different: whereas our print editions kept to the same topics, and some articles could work in both media, Autocade’s content is mostly exclusive to the print magazine.

For those who haven’t been to our sister site, it is a car encyclopædia. However, it was decided that re-creating the encyclopædia entries might be interesting as a reference, but it wouldn’t entertain the reader. Instead, after much brainstorming between my partner, Amanda Satterthwaite, and me, the Yearbook has in-depth features on trends, new and classic models, design, and marketing—topics that go beyond horsepower and torque, and place the car in society.

The result is a homage to the automotive yearbooks of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, in a 128 pp. volume.

It has received endorsements from William Woollard (Top Gear, Tomorrow’s World, Horizon, The Reluctant Buddhist), who said, ‘A genuine collector’s item. You won’t want to put it down.’

Giles Chapman, the award-winning motoring writer and editor (Autocar, Your Classic, Classic and Sportscar) and automotive authority, said, ‘Autocade is in the grand tradition of beautifully produced annuals like World Cars, Car Design Yearbook, Autocourse and Auto Universum, yet offers a deep read for the road car devotee like nothing else I’ve seen. It helps you take stock of this rapidly changing automotive world, provokes thought, and feeds the appetite for insight. That it’s been made tangibly real from a digital background only reiterates the big-hearted passion behind it.’

Our own Stanley Moss added, ‘Thank goodness Autocade’s new annual print edition has finally arrived: the comprehensive auto book we’ve been waiting for. Filled with large-format photography and rich in expert information and opinion, Autocade’s sophisticated, global yearbook stands apart from any of the other car mags. This one stays on my coffee table!’

Perfect for reading through the holidays, the northern winter and the southern summer, Autocade is printed in the UK, which means the substantial postage costs that many Lucire buyers faced when purchasing the New Zealand-sourced international edition have diminished.

To kick off the new book, it’s being sold at Libriz, our new e-commerce shop, for a discounted price of £14·99, or approximately US$18·74 or €17,24, plus postage and any applicable taxes.
