Dolce & Gabbana has opened Casa Dolce & Gabbana at Zhang Garden, Shanghai, as an experiential marketing location for the brand.

The location had been sought after by international brands, built in 1878 as a fairground for foreigners. The gardens came later after its acquisition by Zhang Shuhe in 1882. Architecturally, it blends Chinese and occidental heritages.

The Casa is over two floors, with the ground floor showcasing Sicilian scenery, introducing visitors to where the brand originated. During the opening period, specially commissioned artwork by Alberto Maria Colombo, dubbed Origini, will be displayed in the holographic image space.

The second floor comprises the central exhibition hall, DG Cinema, and three exhibition spaces. A photo exhibition, Nero: the Colours of Dolce & Gabbana, interprets the house’s style through the lens of different photographers. Furniture and home accessories are also on the second floor.

There is also a youth creative project, Gen D, to support young talent in fashion and home design. This year, Chinese emerging designers Xu Mingyu and Wu Jie participated in Gen D, and their work can be seen at Casa Dolce & Gabbana.

Baé by Katya Shehurina, from the designers of Katya Katya London, showed its collaboration with Adidas on the catwalk at Riga Fashion Week.

Announced in April, the collaboration has resulted in a youthful, rich looks, not at all the sort of overtly sporting silhouettes that one might expect from an Adidas collaboration. Mixing luxury party looks meet activewear generated a lot of buzz for Baé.

Bows, tulle and satin played a part as much as logomania and Adidas’ trade-mark three stripes, with Latvian stylist and model Sintija Selicka playing a vital part in finding the synergy between the two brands.

Finally, Levi’s has opened its New Delhi Mall store, the largest Levi’s retail location in the world. The Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden location spans 850 m² (9,150 ft²), and features LED displays with visual animations, a Levi’s Tailor Shop for personalization, and a comprehensive range of men’s and women’s apparel, including the 501 jean and the Trucker jacket. The Mall currently attracts 1 million visitors per month.
