Leeds has a vibrant fashion community, even if those outside the UK might think of London first when it comes to British style.
In fact, say the organizers of the Leeds Shopping Week Festival, 40 per cent of survey participants found it inspiring, compared with 32 for London’s street cred.
For 10 days beginning October 15, city retailers have organized fashion events, most of them free to attend.
A Las Vegas ‘Shopping Affair’ is on the first day in the Victoria Quarter, with 76 stores celebrating the glamour of the 1960s. On the 17th, Leeds Town Hall Crypt will host a vintage arts and crafts fair. On the 22nd, the St John’s Centre is offering a ladies’ evening with styling from Leeds City College fashion students. L. K. Bennett is hosting daily mini-fashion shows throughout the festival, where guests can receive styling advice and complimentary drinks.
Leeds Shopping Week is offering the chance to win over £2,000 worth of delightful ‘Leeds loves’ products and services.
