Model Noémie Lenoir recovering after suicide attempt

May 13, 2010/5.11

Model Noémie Lenoir has attempted suicide and is currently being treated in Paris, according to the Press Association and other sources. She is currently recovering in a Paris hospital.
She reportedly called for an ambulance from the La Celle-Saint-Cloud home of Claude Makelele, the footballer with whom she has a son, before cancelling it. She then left the house and passed out in a forest footpath, where a passer-by found her, says a French police spokesman.
‘It seems she had consumed drugs and alcohol. She was unconscious for a short period of time,’ he says.
The Daily Telegraph speculates that Lenoir’s suicide attempt was brought on by depression, brought on by the charges faced by her new boyfriend Carl Hirschmann.
Hirschmann is alleged by Swiss authorities to have forced young models into sex acts with him. He is currently on bail in Zürich.
Lenoir is best known in the UK as a Marks & Spencer model, but also fronts campaigns for L’Oréal and Victoria’s Secret.
