With France building up to the Miss France telecast, rival pageant Miss Nationale, headed by former Miss France director Geneviève de Fontenay, is spearheading coverage of her 2012 finalists, beginning with coverage in today’s Télé-Loisirs magazine.
The first five finalists will be shown in Télé-Loisirs, beginning a six-week series that will see all 30 previewed.
Readers will choose seven finalists between November 28 and December 3 on the Télé-Loisirs website to go forth to the evening event in Ain on December 4, hosted by Elodie Gossuin in the presence of de Fontenay.
The first five to feature in the magazine are Maud Schatteman (Miss Artois-Cambrésis-Hainaut), Sarah Bonneau (Miss Pays de Savoie), Laëtitia Tolfo (Miss Albigeois-Midi-Pyrénées), Laure Bertin (Miss Limousin), and Maricka Régent (Miss Saint-Martin).
Last year’s first Miss Nationale, created after a falling out between de Fontenay and the current owners of the Miss France pageant, saw Barbara Morel take the crown. Morel has since become known for her relationship with basketballer Tony Parker, former husband of Eva Longoria.
