Jacinta Fitzgerald is an emerging design talent that has won many a fan nationwide. Having completed a design and textile degree and working in some of the top fashion houses in New Zealand, Fitzgerald decided to take a leap of faith and start her label in 2008. Since then, her collections have grown from strength to strength.
Her spring–summer 2010–11 collection, Heavenly Spaces, is an exploration of contrasting ideas, mixing soft, feminine lines with sharp, structured ones. Moody blues, hot pinks and reds collide with strong graphic prints to create a collection that is fun, wearable and ultra-feminine. Soft knits are draped into Grecian-like dresses and tops. Masculine tailoring is given a feminine edge with ruffles, peplums and pleating. Lace and floral prints are toughened up with industrial zippers and eyelets.
Each piece is beautifully and lovingly designed to show off your shape to best effect. Jacinta Fitzgerald is available through her website and nationwide this coming season.—Sopheak Seng
