Taking a leaf from successful bridal couture shows such as Pronovias in Barcelona, New Zealand will launch its own bridal week in Auckland next year.
Local names will appear alongside Cymbeline and Ruben Perlotti at the New Zealand Bridal Fashion Week (BFW), according to organizers.
Gloria Vincent, director of BFW, says the event will run at the Dome at the Auckland Museum from April 1 to 5.
The event will be open to the public, and will feature New Zealand bridal haute couture, a designer catwalk, a young designer event, Pasifika bridal designs, bridal wearable art, bridal body painting, and a finalé with New Zealand’s Bride of the Year.
Choreography for the themed designer shows will be by Amanda Bransgrove, Director of Monarch Models and Catwalk Studios.
The designer line-up and ticket availability will be advised in the New Year.
