In the final day of Cannes coverage, we have an interview with Paolo Sorrentino, director of This Must Be the Place, starring Sean Penn, Frances McDormand and Eve Hewson.
Cinémoi has also compiled a “best of” featuring the L’Oréal models who have appeared at the Festival de Cannes. L’Oréal Paris is a major sponsor of the event, as it has been for years. Spokesmodels include Jane Fonda, Milla Jovovich, Frida Pinto, Bar Rafaeli, Alinne Moraes, and Gwen Stefani.
But the best video we’ve saved for last. It’s the awards’ ceremony featuring this year’s highlights and the winners.
Terrence Malick took home this year’s Palme d’Or for his film, Tree of Life, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. The very reclusive Malick was not present to accept his prize.
The Grand Prize was shared between The Kid with the Bike, by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne (Belgium), and Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, by Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Turkey).
The jury prize was given to Poliss, by Maiwenn (France). Best Director went to Nicolas Winding Refn for Drive (Denmark).
Jean Dujardin won Best Actor for The Artist (France).
American Kirsten Dunst won Best Actress for Melancholia (Denmark).
Best Screenplay went to Joseph Cedar for Footnote (Israel).
The Camera d’Or for a first-time director was awarded to Pablo Giorgelli for Las acacias (Argentina).
Country, by Maryna Vroda (Ukraine) won Best Short Film.
