Five Coventry University graduates will see their input on the catwalk at Caribbean Fashion Week, running from June 8 to 13 in Kingston, Jamaica.
The graduates, under an internship programme, had worked on Birmingham designer Gavin Douglas’s spring–summer 2012 collection, which will be shown at the event.
According to Coventry University, Nell Robinson, Jaunel McKenzie and Jeneil Williams will be among the models wearing the creations.
Douglas provided the graduates with pattern-cutting, print designing and garment production work, and currently offers on-campus workshops for undergraduates at Coventry.
‘Coventry University’s fashion department has a strong reputation in the industry, and I’ve very much enjoyed working with its graduates and having access to its facilities, which are some of the most advanced in the industry, to develop my new line of clothing,’ says Douglas.
‘The graduates both observed and actively participated in the creation of our new spring and summer collection, from the concept to the completed garment.’
