Absolut Vodka has, throughout the years, partnered with leading names in the fashion industry to create a variety of unique works of art. This year at the New Zealand Fashion Week 2011 will be no different as the company has announced its continuing support of the event as well as of three leading Kiwi designers with the 2011 Absolut fashion campaign.
Absolut will unveil Absolut Studio, a design space dedicating to showcasing the best of fashion, art, and music across Fashion Week (September 2–3). To be held at the Viaduct Events Centre, the Absolut Studio will include performances from bands and DJs, and serve exclusive cocktails designed by designers Adrian Hailwood, Huffer, and Lonely Hearts. Absolut partnered with the designers to create the cocktails with each cocktail representing a stylistic trait unique to its respective designer. These cocktails will be served in participating bars throughout New Zealand from the August 1 through September 15.
This year will also see Absolut’s resident mixologist, Chris Harrop, hosting Absolut Mixology seminars during which a range of tips and tricks for creating sinfully delicious Absolut cocktails will be given. A unique new Absolut advertising campaign to go along with Fashion Week has also been created and shot by New Zealand photographer Ross Brown, and will appear across print, digital and billboard media activity. An opportunity to win a trip to for two to the fashion capital, Milano, will also accompany the advertising campaign.

Absolut Hailwood
Inspired by Adrian Hailwood
30 ml Absolut Citron
20 ml lemon juice
10 ml Lillet blanc
10 ml triple sec liqueur
10 ml white chocolate liqueur
Method: shake all ingredients and strain into a short glass over ice. Garnish: six frozen blackcurrants (cassis berries). Glass: tumbler.
Absolut Huffer
Inspired by Huffer
30 ml Absolut Original
20 ml Kahlúa
30 ml freshly brewed espresso
15 ml maple syrup
Dash of Fee Brothers bitters
Method: Stir all ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish: three white chocolate buttons, arranged in the shape of the Huffer symbol (a triangle).
Absolut Lonely Hearts
Inspired by Lonely Hearts
45 ml Absolut Pears
30 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
15 ml sugar syrup
6 large mint leaves
Topped with soda
Method: Build drink in a long glass and stir. Garnish: mint sprig. Glass: tall glass.
