New Zealand label Sabatini paired with Smashbox cosmetics yesterday at the kick-off day of New Zealand Fashion Week to début the season’s hottest make-up trends. The collaboration between Sabatini, who is renowned for clothes that are sexy and natural, and Smashbox, who is known for stunning yet tasteful make-up, seems only natural.
Flawless porcelain skin accentuated by dramatic lips, defined eyebrows, delicate cheekbones, and understated eyes appeared to be the trend du jour. The elegant yet understated look pairs perfectly with the androgynous looks populating the runway this year but can also be easily achieved at home.
To start, apply the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer to create the perfect, long-lasting base for a look that will last all day. Follow this with Smashbox Full Coverage Foundation and add dimension to the look by using Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder. Move onto the picture frames to the face: the eyebrows. Define and fill in brows with Smashbox Brown Tech in Soft Brown (or whatever your brow colour is), using the Smashbox Angle Brow Brush 12 to lightly dip into the brow powder and brush through brows using short, upward strokes. Polish off the look by filling in lips with Smashbox Nude Lip Liner in Dark, completing the ensemble by applying Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss in Icon for a sultry and seductive finish.
Smashbox cosmetics are available in selected Life Pharmacies, beauty spas, at the Smashbox concept store in Ponsonby or online at smashboxcosmetics.co.nz.—Sabine Ernest
