We begin our Paris Fashion Week coverage with Gareth Pugh, Rochas and Mugler.
London transplant Gareth Pugh showed his collection on the rue de Turenne at the semaine de mode in Paris, with plenty of leather and exaggerated lapels and collars. This was a tough-looking, almost geometrically rigid collection, with plenty of drama.
Rochas showed oversized jackets, shift dresses and cocoon coats in plum, teal and brown, with knits, mosaics and a harlequin pattern for the autumn–winter 2012–13 season.
Mugler, meanwhile, took us on a retrofuturistic journey, blending the space theme with feathers, animal prints and fringeing, while oversized shoulders, peplum cuts, asymmetry and layering made for an artful vision for the season.
