Supermodel Naomi Campbell is one of the mentors on modelling reality show The Face, alongside Karolína Kurková and Coco Rocha. The new show is hosted by America’s Next Top Model photographer Nigel Barker (see Lucire issue 14), a former model himself.
The casting special has already aired on the Oxygen channel, ahead of its series première on February 12 at 9 p.m.
The final 12 will be coached in teams of four, with each model choosing those closest to their own type. The prize is a contract as the face of Ulta Beauty.
Campbell, who has 26 years of experience in modelling, also serves as an executive producer for the series.
‘The thing that attracted me was the mentoring aspect and getting to share my experiences with young hopefuls who want to be in the business,’ she says at the launch party for the series.
‘There are so many models out there vying for the job. It’s good for them to know that that’s the real authentic feeling—what you see is what’s authentic in the world of modelling.’
Barker said at a press conference that the show’s realistic approach drew him to the project.
