IWC Schaffhausen débuted its Aquatimer diver’s watch collection at a celebrity-filled opening at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) on the 20th in Genève. Last night, the Swiss watchmaker held a gala evening called Inside the Wave, with even more VIPs from the worlds of modelling, film, motor racing, and football.
No expense has been spared at either event. The booth itself has hand-made models of hammerhead sharks and fish projected on the walls, in an undersea world designed to evoke the capability of the Aquatimer range. The company supports both the Charles Darwin Foundation, which works on the Galapagos Islands, and the Cousteau Society, dedicated to the research work of Jacques Cousteau and the preservation of the sea.
Inside the Wave brought members of Cirque du Soleil, who performed a unique show for IWC, and Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, performed live music. Hosted by IWC Schaffhausen CEO Georges Kern and IWC brand manager for Russia and the CIS Luc Rochereau, guests included Karolína Kurková, Adriana Lima, Lewis Hamilton, Kevin Spacey, Ewan McGregor, Susan Sarandon, Melanie Laurent, Moritz Bleibtreu, Nico Rosberg, Helen Svedin and Luís Figo, Jens Lehmann and Conny Lehrmann, Pierfrancesco Favino, Ronan Keating and Storm Uechtritz, Roberto and Zoe di Matteo, Alexei and Galina Nemov, Alberto Zaccheroni, Beate Nehter and Ottmar Hitzfeld, Elvira and Gunter Netzer, Evelyne Binsack, Prince Abdulaziz Turki al Faisal, Swen Lorenz, Tim Jefferies, Jose Maria Yazpik, Fabian Cancellara, Alberto Zaccheroni, Richard Krajicek, Arsène Wenger, Annie Brosterhous, John Helliwell, and Jose Maria Manzanares.
