Arnold & Son has created a new moon-phase calibre into an ultra-slim (10·44 mm thick), 38 mm red gold case, with its new Perpetual Moon 38 Gold. One hundred and thirty-eight diamonds totalling c. 2·61 ct appear for the hour markers, crown, lugs and bezel. The dial is in mother-of-pearl, and the moon is in Super-LumiNova with hand-painted shadows. The crystal is a domed sapphire with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, while the case back is in sapphire crystal, also with an anti-reflective coating. The strap is in a satin-fee blue alligator leather. The watch is water-resistant to 30 m (100 ft). The A&S1612 24-jewel movement is manually wound with an impressive autonomy of 90 hours, and the moon phase will remain accurate for 122 years when constantly wound. Priced at SFr.48,500 including taxes (subject to change).
