GAP brand Athleta, a certified B Corp., has released an eight-piece capsule collection to go with a styling formula that it dubs ‘the Athleta Look’.
The collection is available in sizes ranging from XXS to 3X, as well as petite and tall.
Athleta advises customers to begin with a performance layer, add an active product, then an outerwear layer. It has the Elation V-neck top, Elation split flare, Ascent seamless turtleneck, Delancey dress, Delancey straight cargo pant, Whisper Featherless long vest, Primatwill blazer and Retroplush cotton hoodie, among others, to go with each layer.
Athleta’s idea is that women can work out in the performance layer in the morning, and add other layers as they progress through the day.
Ebru Ercon, VP of design for Athleta, said, ‘Women are looking for more functional yet trend-right clothes than they did pre-pandemic. They want the comfort of a performance product and the polish of their favourite “before times” outfit. They also want a few key pieces that they will wear again and again in lots of different ways.
‘After listening to customers, we learned there was a demand for simplified shopping. Thus, we developed this fall capsule that creates more, with less. We created a wardrobe that moves at the speed of her life.’
The eight pieces make up 20 outfits. Prices range from US$65 to US$269. They are available now at athleta.ca.
