To celebrate International Day of the Girl, Mattel’s Barbie has announced that Ethique founder and CEO Brianne West is its official role model for New Zealand for 2022.
West joins other role models abroad, including US TV producer Shonda Rhimes, as part of Barbie Role Models’ Inspiring Founders theme. Each one has a unique Barbie doll made in their likeness, which is the highest honour that the brand bestows on its honorees.
Barbie Role Models says West was chosen for her environmental advocacy and social entrepreneurship, including Ethique’s zero-waste approach.
She is one of twelve founders this year, chosen from the fields of entertainment, education, wellness and others.
