There’s still life in bricks and mortar yet, with Esprit popping up at the Grove in Los Angeles through June, following an earlier pop-up in New York City.
The 219 m² (2,360 ft²) space at 189 Grove Drive features the Esprit logotype in a graffiti style on the walls, as part of the brand’s ‘rules don’t apply’ message.
Esprit’s pop-up is meant to revisit the brand’s roots in the US west coast. It was founded in San Francisco in 1968. It is in advance of a North American expansion plan, with more pop-ups to come, and permanent retail locations in NYC, LA and Vancouver.
The autumn brings an official global relaunch.
Meanwhile, Calvin Klein has opened its first New Zealand lifestyle store in Queenstown, at 11–15 Rees Street. The 211 m² space is slightly smaller than Esprit’s, and features underwear, Performance, Kids, menswear, womenswear, accessories and footwear.
The new store features a minimal, modern æsthetic and Calvin Klein’s campaign images.
