Sustainable footwear brand Lane Eight has launched the Relay Trainer, a high-performance sneaker.

The founders, brothers James and Josh Shorrock, have designed the Relay Trainer to suit cardio-centric workouts and runs, with light weight and responsive cushioning. Four colourways are available: Shadow (black and white), Breeze (white), Latte (neutral, earthy tones), Keylime (a startling and very trendy lime stripe on white).

‘We designed this sneaker to be lightweight and provide easy movement. It also features a durable, multi-patterned out sole that provides excellent grip on a variety of surfaces, an upper with strategically placed reinforcements for increased stability and our signature ETPU sock liners, which provide an additional layer of plush cushioning, and don’t go flat like typical sock liners for the most comfortable and supportive fit,’ said Josh.

Lane Eight sourced materials such as algæ- and sugarcane-based foam, and recycled plastic, among other low-carbon footprint materials.

‘Like the rest of our range, the Relay Trainer is sustainably made. It incorporates a mix of recycled and naturally derived materials that maximize performance while reducing our impact,’ added James.

The Relay Trainer is available now from Lane Eight at laneeight.com, priced at US$150 per pair.
