Adidas by Stella McCartney and Terrex have teamed up on a luxury ski collection for autumn–winter 2023–4, using recycled materials in part. The campaign is fronted by British actress and model Iris Law.
The collection features striking prints and silhouettes, with two key pieces. First is the TrueNature two-layered insulated jacket with Primaloft Parley padding derived from recycled ocean plastic and Rain.rdy technology, coming in a blue, orange and black colourway with a floral print. Second is the Free Hiker shoe made in part from recycled materials, with a claimed sock-like fit and Cold.rdy technology for warmth.
The ‘in part’ means at least 85 per cent recycled materials for the range.
While Adidas and Stella McCartney have made known commitments to recycling and the environment, Guess doesn’t quickly come to mind in the same way—but even there, too, things are changing. Newly shown is its chili red Eco Monique satin dress made with recycled components, namely 66 per cent recycled polyester and recycled plastic.
Malo, meanwhile, has greatly focused on sustainability with its autumn–winter 2023–4 collection, Inhabit the Body. This season sees regenerated cashmere (50 per cent post-consumer cashmere spun with new cashmere, saving 90 per cent water, 80 per cent electricity, and 95 per cent carbon dioxide emissions); organic wool and merino wool that is 100 per cent traceable and ethically sourced with no dyes, chemical treatments or mulesing; and alpaca wool from ethical, certified farms, also free from dyes and chemical treatments. Jackets use eco down wadding, made from recycled polyester, or recycled down padding from post-consumer garments. The Malo collection is handmade.
