In time for the impending southern summer, New Zealand footwear designer Bronwyn has opened a pop-up shop at 95a Ponsonby Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland, opposite Mecca and Ponsonby Central. It is set to be its longest-standing pop-up shop, open till February 2024.
Inside, the Bronwyn boxes’ signature pink is reflected in the floors, with warm white walls and displays.
Creative director Sarah Street will be in-store most days.
The footwear itself is locally designed, and ethically manufactured by a female-owned business in Dongguan, China. The owner is a long-time friend of Street. The tanneries used by Bronwyn are Leather Working Group (LWG)-accredited. Bronwyn’s manufacturing partners have signed a code of ethics that align with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) standards and best practices.
The pop-up store’s hours are Thursday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
