NEOM, Saudi Arabia’s latest development is Aquellum, hidden from the Gulf of Aqaba in a 450 m high mountain range, integrated into the natural surroundings.
To access Aquellum, visitors will need to begin their journey at a floating marina, then take a vessel through an underground canal. Inside will be a 100 m high vertical experience with a courtyard connecting water to sky. NEOM calls it a ‘subterranean digitalized community’ in which it envisages cutting-edge tech and avant-garde architecture, with hotels, apartments, retail spaces, leisure and entertainment zones, and innovation hubs.
There will be an internal transit system to access the higher floors, rooftop gardens and coastal views.
It will adhere to NEOM’s commitment to conservation, sustainability and innovation.
