After interviewing the Daily Mirror’s Piers Morgan last year, Naomi Campbell met with Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez for British GQ. Her interview appears in the magazine published today.
GQ editor Dylan Jones told The Guardian that it was easy to organize the interview as Chavez was interested in meeting Campbell. Excerpts from the interview were released to the media earlier this week.
Campbell is the third western celebrity to meet with the President in recent times. He has received Hollywood actor Sean Penn and director Oliver Stone.
The interview was conducted in three parts. Chavez spent portions of it criticizing George W. Bush and the United States.
Campbell expects to meet Fidel Castro for GQ, and The Guardian reports that she would like to interview Nicolas Sarkozy.
