Citroën is going after the fashionable end of the market even more strongly with the DS3 by Orla Kiely Collection, launching February 1 with a limited edition of 500 units.
The Irish designer has appointed the DS3 DStyle HDi 90 featuring her signature acorn or stem patterns. There are four body colours each with a unique roof design, 17-inch alloy wheels, stem-print rear-window graphics and coloured door mirrors. The Orla Kiely stem graphic also appears on the rear tailgate and a further signature is on the middle of the rear spoiler.
The Kiely treatment extends inside, with leather seats with multi-coloured headrests; custom-print carpet mats, and a special dashboard and door inserts.
Mark Lloyd, chief designer of the DS3, says, ‘Orla Kiely’s innovative use of colour and pattern has earned her global praise and recognition. She is the perfect partner for DS3.’
Lloyd also called the DS3 a modern design icon—while an attractive supermini to rival the likes of the Mini and Fiat 500, we’re not too sure if it has reached such hallowed realms yet.
However, the DS3 is less plentiful than the Mini or 500, which means, if you want to stand out and lead the pack, the Orla Kiely models will help even more. Prices in the UK begin at £16,000 MRRP OTR.
