New Zealand hairdressers to be honoured in September 4 ceremony

News

August 25, 2011/22.26

On September 4, starting at 2 p.m. at the City Gallery, Civic Square, Wellington, the New Zealand Association of Registered Hairdressers Awards 2011 will take place. After closely scrutinizing the record-breaking 309 submissions to the event, the judges selected both national and regional finalists and will recognize the winners at the event.
Each regional winner will receive their commemorative certificate and trophy while the national category winners will receive a commemorative certificate, trophy and pair of Excellent Edges scissors. The Supreme Winner will be awarded the title and fabulous prize of a $1,000 travel voucher and entry pass to the Hair Expo 2012.
Lucire publisher Jack Yan, who was one of the three judges for the awards, says, ‘There was a real meeting of minds with my fellow judges as in many cases we were unanimous, although we judged independently. It shows that skill and style are appreciated uniformly by different parts of the industry. Of the entries, the majority tapped in to the Zeitgeist, regardless of which part of the country they hailed from.’
Tickets will be available for sale to the public for NZ$65 and include entry to the Award’s presentation, an opportunity to see all 309 entries and pre-function beverages and canapés. To purchase tickets, call the NZARH office on 64 4 586-1421 or visit www.nzhairdressing.org.nz.—Sabine Ernest
