Chanel and Harrods have joined forces, with the iconic French brand redesigning the store’s Brompton Road windows as part of a three-week promotion beginning on September 5. It has also created temporary fashion and beauty boutiques within the store, complementing temporary displays for watches and fine jewellery.
The windows showcase Karl Lagerfeld’s autumn–winter 2011–12 collection in French fairy-tale settings, featuring, as the company puts it, ‘enchanted bestiary, fabled mise en scenes and a subtle layering of exquisitely refined fabrics.’
The 150 m² fashion boutique is on the ground floor, accessible from Brompton and Hans Roads. The boutique is divided into three coloured rooms, showcasing Chanel’s ready-to-wear collection, accessories, bags, shoes and costume jewellery.
The beauty boutique, also on the ground floor, showcases creative director Peter Philips’s Knightsbridge collection.
Opening on Tuesday is ‘Une Promenade’, a third-floor installation based around the theme of ‘Coco in Wonderland’. The installation has a floor space of 350 m².
The temporary boutiques complement the brand’s permanent ones: the watch and fine jewellery boutique and beauty counter are on the ground floor; the fashion boutique and shoe counter are on the first floor.
