As Wellington Fashion Week came to a close, what the Lucire team remembers the most were the very strong hair and make-up, created by WFW make-up creative director, Olivia Wild, and Napoleon Perdis senior make-up artist Tracey Zenatti.
Here are three of the looks that stood out for their beauty, and how to achieve them (reproduced in full from Napoleon Perdis, without edits from us). Julian Danger’s show was a stand-out with soft sorbet colours in the clothing, complemented by the doll-like make-up created for it. Nicola Screen for Goodness was pre-Raphaëlite beauties with edge, their dark smoky eyes laden with gold popping against soft wispy hair by Peter Burkill, while the soft, nude, no make-up make-up look from the Friday night show is something that everyone should master in their repertoire.—Sopheak Seng, Fashion and Beauty Editor
Julian Danger
Prime
- Using Flawless Foundation Brush g18, apply two pumps of Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum to the entire face followed by Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer.
- Prep lips with Auto Pilot Lip Service.
- Curl lashes and apply a first coat of Mesmer-Eyes Mascara.
Base
- Using Flawless Foundation Brush g18, apply a small amount of Advanced Mineral Make-up starting at the ‘feature focus’ area of the face blending out to the jawline for an even coverage.
- Using Eye Priming Brush g10, conceal the eye area with Pro Palette Concealer and apply to blemishes or any other areas of concern. Be sure to warm the concealer into the skin with your finger tip or a sponge.
- Apply Eye Will Survive Eye Primer from lash line to brow. Use Eye Priming Brush g10 for best results.
- Lightly set around the eye area using Contour Brush 16b. Follow by setting the foundation across the ‘feature focus’ area of the face with Camera Finish using Finishing Powder Brush s25.
Eyes
- Using Flat Shader Brush 10b, blend Eye Pencil Brown Sugar over the mobile lid and below the lower lash line.
- Apply Color Disc Trench Coat over the mobile lid and below the lower lash line using Flat Shader Brush10b.
- Sweep Color Disc Amazon Jungle through the socket using Contour Brush 16b.
- Highlight the brow bone using Color Disc Skinny Dip using Flater Shader Brush 10b.
- Line the lower inner rim of the eye with China Doll Gel Eyeliner Alabaster using Precision Angle Brush 5a.
- Measure Faux Lashes Geranium to the upper lash line, remove then trim excess length with a small pair of scissors. Apply glue to the strip of the lash, allow a few seconds to become tacky and place closely to the upper lash line.
- Apply a second and third coat of Mesmer-Eyes Mascara.
Brows
- Comb the brows and define with Eyebrow Pencil Pale Rider or Chocoholic.
- Hold brows in place with Peep Show Mascara Madame Crystal.
Cheeks
- Add warmth to the apples of the cheeks with The Ultimate Contour Palette Blush using Chisel Blush Brush 22b. Concentrate the application at the apples of the cheeks for a doll like effect.
- Using the same brush, lightly contour under the cheek bones with a touch of The Ultimate Contour Palette Contour.
- Highlight the top of cheeks using The Ultimate Contour Palette Highlight.
Lips
- Stain the lips with a touch of Nude Rose Lip Gloss using Compact Lip Brush 2b.
Nicola Screen
Prime
- Using Complexion Perfection Brush 23s, work two pumps of Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum to the entire face followed by Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer.
- Prepare Lips with Auto Pilot Lip Service.
- Curl eye lashes and apply your first coat of Mesmer-Eyes Mascara.
Base
- Using Complexion Perfection Brush 23s, buff a small amount of Advanced Mineral Makeup starting at the ‘feature focus’ area of the face, blending out to the jawline for an even coverage.
- Use Eye Priming Brush g10 to conceal the eye area with Pro Palette Concealer and continue applying to blemishes or any other areas of concern. Be sure to warm the concealer into the skin with your finger tip or a sponge.
- Use Eye Priming Brush g10 and apply Eye Will Survive Eye Primer from lash line to brow bone.
- Lightly set around the eye area using Contour Brush 16b and a touch of Camera Finish. Follow by setting the foundation across the ‘feature focus’ area of the face using Finishing Powder Brush s25.
Eyes
- Blend Eye Pencil Brown Sugar on the outer corner of the mobile lid and slightly along the lash line with Angled Chisel Brush 9a. Using the same brush, continue graduating the pencil from the outer corner of the lower lash line half-way across to nothing.
- Using Flat Shader Brush10b set Eye Pencil Brown Sugar with Color Disc Chocolate Ganache. Continue blending along the lower lash line using Angled Chisel Brush 9a.
- Pat Loose Eye Dust Star Light over the mobile lid, starting at the inner corner of the eye until it meets the darker eye shadow.
- Highlight the brow bone with a touch of Light Patrol Luminizer Palette Gold.
- Line the upper lash line using China Doll Gel Eyeliner Equinox and continue lining the lower inner rim.
- Apply a second and third coat of Mesmer-Eyes Mascara to the upper and lower lashes.
Brows
- Comb the brows and create a strong definition using Eyebrow Pencil Chocoholic and Color Disc Espresso To Go to set.
- Hold the brows in place by combing a touch of Peep Show Mascara Madame Crystal through the brows using a disposable mascara wand.
Cheeks
- Contour under the cheek bones with The Ultimate Contour Palette Contour, using the Reflective Contour Brush 20b.
- Add color to the apples of the cheek with Chisel Blush Brush 22b and The Ultimate Contour Palette Blush.
- Highlight the top of the cheekbones with The Ultimate Contour Palette Highlight.
Lips
- Stain the Lips with DèVine Goddess Lipstick Calypso using Compact Lip Brush 2b.
Group Show B, soft
Prime
- Using Complexion Perfection Brush 17s, apply two pumps of Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum to the entire face and follow with Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer.
- Prep Lips with Auto Pilot Lip Service.
- Curl lashes and apply a coat of Long Black Double Black Mascara.
Base
- Using Complexion Perfection Brush 17s, buff a small amount of China Doll Foundation, starting at the ‘feature focus’ area of the face, blending out to the jawline for an even coverage.
- Using Eye Priming Brush g10, conceal the eye area with Pro-Palette Concealer. Apply to blemishes or any other areas of concerns. Be sure to warm the concealer into the skin with your finger tip or a sponge.
- Using Eye Priming Brush g10, apply Eye Will Survive Eye Primer from lash line to brow.
- Lightly set the eye area using Contour Brush 16b and a touch of Mattifying Mineral Primer. Follow by setting the foundation across the ‘feature focus’ area of the face using Mega Powder Brush 50r.
Eyes
- Using Flat Shader Brush10b, pat Color Disc Blushing Bride over the mobile lid area.
- Sweep Loose Eye Dust Star Light over the mobile lid using Contour Brush 16b.
- Sweep Color Disc Espresso To Go below the lower lash line using Flat Shader Brush 10b.
- Add a highlight the brow bone with Color Disc Skinny Dip using Sculpting & Contour Brush 16r.
- Line the lower inner rim with a touch of China Doll Gel Eyeliner Alabaster using Precision Angle Brush 5a.
- Apply a second and third coat of Long Black Double Black to the lashes.
Brows
- Comb the brows and define with Eyebrow Pencil Chocoholic or Pale Rider.
- Hold brows in place with Peep Show Mascara Madame Crystal.
Cheeks
- Lightly apply The Ultimate Contour Palette Contour under the cheek bones using Chisel Blush Brush 22b.
- Sweep The Ultimate Contour Palette Blush over the cheek bones and up towards the temple with Chisel Blush Brush 22b.
- Using Complexion Perfection Brush 17s, highlight the top of the cheek bones with The Ultimate Contour Palette Highlight.
Lips
- Coat the Lips with DèVine Goddess Lipstick Demeter using Compact Lip Brush 2b.
- Line the Lips with Lip Pencil Nude Awakening and finish with Luminous Lip Veil in the Flesh.
