Le Specs releases its summer 2012 range and transports us on an exotic journey to the shores of Jamaica with Kokomo.
Designer Hamish Tame infuses an island vibe colour palette, pairing more muted colours of black and tortoiseshell with the pop colours of the warmer seasons. Think acid yellow, bright cobalt and shades of mint.
Tame explains, ‘The look of the collection was inspired by the relaxed yet colourful atmosphere of lazy days in Jamaica that turn into party-filled nights,’ fulfilling the mantra of the company, ‘Sexy but cheeky’.
Tame and Le Specs bring alive the new shapes of the latest collection with pieces holding a sports-luxe feel. Styles such as Freaky Tikki show an update on the 1950s’ dramatic cat-eye flick. Kokomo updates the classic aviator style, keeping that chic classic shape modern and on trend.
For those who want to stay fashion-forward or perhaps be more adventurous, keep Rude Boy in mind, with its extreme rounded frame and cut-out lenses. This shape creates the ultimate fashion statement for eyewear.
But I would have to say my personal pick would have to be Dingaling, a sexy pair of black and gold frames, creating the desire to lounge around a sunny poolside on an exotic island paradise.
Le Specs’ Kokomo range presents us with new ways to make a bold statement in eyewear, along with an affordable price. So create your own ‘Sexy but cheeky’ statement with one of the 36 pieces and transport yourself to your own summer fun.
The Le Specs Kokomo range will be available at the end of July. Check www.lespecs.com for stockist information.—Roanna Bell, Assistant Fashion Editor
