As well as débuting its F-Pace SUV on its largest stand ever, Jaguar Land Rover has shown the vehicles it has supplied for the next James Bond film, Spectre, as part of the events for the IAA, the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Jaguar C-X75, resplendent in orange for the film, the Range Rover Sport SVR and the Land Rover Defender have appeared at Thurn und Taxis, with stars Naomie Harris and David Bautista as special guests at the Jaguar Land Rover Bond party on the eve of the reveal.
Other celebrities present at the party included model David Gandy, German actor and brand ambassador Jürgen Vogel, Alexandra Maria Lara, Anja Kling, Hannah Herzsprung and Sonya Kraus, while British singer and musician John Newman provided the entertainment. Representing Jaguar Land Rover were CEO Dr Ralf Speth, design director Gerry McGovern and JLR Germany director Peter Modelhart.
The C-X75, originally a show car, appears in the film as driven by Bautista’s character, Mr Hinx, and is involved in a moonlit chase against James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10, a vehicle created for Spectre.
‘To have the opportunity to be a part of an iconic chase scene in a Bond movie and to drive the C-X75 supercar was like a dream come true for me. It truly is a beautiful beast of a car that will go down in movie history,’ said Bautista.
The Land Rover Defender and 550 PS Range Rover Sport SVR appear in major action sequences shot in Austria. The Defenders in the film have 37-inch off-road tyres, modified suspension and enhanced body protection.
Kraus noted that the Range Rover SVR was her favourite of the three Bond cars on the stand: ‘Big and strong, I would take one away today!’ Herzsprung said, ‘I am a big fan of the James Bond movies, and of course Jaguar Land Rover. Both stand for British coolness, exceptional performance and a certain something—they fit perfectly together.’
Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) worked on the Bond cars in association with the filmmakers. The C-X75 was prepared by SVO in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering. SVO is also working on the six re-creations of the Lightweight E-type, announced last year.
The company will show additional Spectre content through its social media channels, including behind-the-scenes videos on the design of the cars, a walk-around of the C-X75, and the stunt teams.
Spectre premières in the UK on October 26.
