More details of the Iris Apfel × H&M collection, teased last September, have emerged, with the collaboration hitting select H&M stores and hm.com on April 14.
The collection is in the flamboyant and bold Iris Apfel trade-mark style, with particularly fun items such as a tiered skirt with an extravagant flower print, an emerald jacquard suit with peapod embroidery, a bright orange tiered pleated shirt, and a frilled tulle jacket in violet. The colours—there are also yellow, turquoise and orange—are extra-bright, lifting the season to a happier plateau.
Last September, Apfel said, ‘I think that H&M is a fabulous outfit worldwide and absolute pioneers in their field—which I love! I love doing high style at affordable prices, which H&M has mastered!’
The style icon was born in New York in 1921 and celebrated her 100th birthday last year. She became known for her eclectic, “more is more” æsthetic, which the H&M collaboration taps into.
