After the fall of FTX, maybe Crypto King isn’t the best name for a collection, though Philipp Plein has done just that, along with a complementary Crypto Queen series. Both were launched at the Fairmont Hotel in Genève, with a Red Bull stunt parachutist leaping over Le Léman kicking off the event, and special guest Bonnie Tyler performing live.
Names aside, these are attractive watches with Plein’s maximalist philosophy. Among the Crypto King range is the Cryptonite, in a green finish; we also like the Gladiator in black and the Gold Goliath. The skull motif has been worked in to the new range. For the Crypto Queen line, there’s the Cherry Blossom Ice Queen with pink detailing, and the regal Goddess of Time in gold and black. If you don’t like yellow gold, Philipp Plein has the Rose Gold Venom model with a similar design.
