Artist Polina Zahkarova has created the video art for Gucci Cosmos, an exhibition in collaboration with, and celebrating, the fashion house.
The exhibition opens October 11 at 180 The Strand during Frieze London, and runs till December 31.
Zakharova and her collaborator Sveta Yermolayeva, both at Hard Feelings Studio, have worked alongside contemporary artist Es Devlin and fashion theorist and critic Maria Luisa Frissa for the visuals and video content. The work traces the ideas and inventions behind Gucci’s many creative directors and artisans. The result presents Gucci’s history and looks to its future, touching on themes of, inter alia, heritage, luxury, and interconnectedness.
Zakharova and Yermolayeva have worked with the Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Anyma, A Bathing Ape, the Met Gala, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Palm Angels and Drake, and blend art, music, fashion, new media, and audio art. They formerly headed Sila Sveta.
More information on the exhibition can be found here. Bookings through the site are advised.
