Former Doctor Who stars Christopher Eccleston (the Ninth Doctor in season 27, 2005), Pearl Mackie (Bill Potts, season 36), and Wendy Padbury (Zoe Heriot, seasons 5 and 6), along with Australian comedian Rob Lloyd (performing his one-man show, Me and Who) are special guests in next year’s The Lord of Time: a Doctor Who Event in Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand.
The event, organized by Armageddon Expo founder William Feradts, will feature Q&A and discussion panels, autograph and photo opportunies, and merchandise retail. Auckland’s event is on February 24 and Wellington’s the day after.
Tickets and tokens are available via Iticket for the Auckland event and Ticketmaster for Wellington.
Twice BAFTA-nominated Eccleston is the first Doctor Who lead since the series’ revival that fans in New Zealand can meet.
An additional Doctor Who event, the Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder: where Science Meets Fiction exhibition, will run for five months from June 1 at Tākina in Wellington. It will be the first time the exhibition has left the UK.
In the UK, Doctor Who celebrated its 60th anniversary last month with a number of specials, including three episodes starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor. The New Zealand events continue the anniversary celebrations Down Under.
