The second trailer for the new James Bond film, Skyfall, has been released, initially at, at 2 p.m. BST.
More of the plot emerges in the new trailer, showing Bond falling to his presumed death, and an attack on the SIS building—the MI6 headquarters—at Vauxhall Cross. Another plot point appears to involve the disappearance of a hard drive containing the identities of embedded agents, which are subsequently uploaded on to YouTube. Javier Bardem, who plays the villain in the new film, makes his first trailer appearance, having been seen only as a silhouette in the previous version. Ben Whishaw, the fourth actor to play Q in the Eon Productions series, also makes his first appearance.
There is also a sequence lifted from the Fleming books: a James Bond obituary being written because of the agent’s apparent death.
Fans who were concerned that director Sam Mendes’ Bond film might lack the usual thrills can cast their fears aside: the trailer has numerous action sequences that had been unknown to all but the most ardent fans.
Daniel Craig, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Dame Judi Dench feature prominently in the trailer.

Stolen Girlfriends’ Club’s HQ was cleared out to fit 200 guests for the showing of its summer 2012–13 collection on last Wednesday evening. Titled Hello Country/Goodbye Nightclub, the collection is filled with a mash-up of florals, chambray, crocodile-embossed leather, and naughty-Nana crochet knits.
The small town girl has grown up and sliced her “country bumpkin” frocks to make way for some new party outfits. The floral prints appear playful, but get a closer look and they take you on a trip, consisting of opium poppies and datura flowers.
In the menswear range, we see a clash between sport and street. The sporty silhouettes in semi-precious fabrics, preppy knits with ‘WTF’ embroidered on the front, and the American crew sweater with the snake and flamingo print all show this tension.
Their accessories are all in the signature print with leather trimmings.

Karl Lagerfeld

Fashion mæstro Karl Lagerfeld himself launched an exclusive, dedicated space for his brand at Selfridges on Tuesday, featuring two of his collections: Karl Man + Woman and the premium line, Karl Lagerfeld Paris Man. Selfridges will also feature Team Karl, a third, capsule collection commemorating the London Olympics.
The pop-up store is on the third floor, within Selfridges’ contemporary womenswear department.
The autumn–winter 2012–13 Karl collection is the more casual line, achieving what this magazine has always dubbed ‘accessible luxury’. The collection, says Selfridges, ‘offers the wearer sharp tailoring and fresh silhouettes without compromising great fabrics and durability.’
Karl Lagerfeld Paris Man is a luxury line featuring innovative design and tailoring.
Team Karl is an exclusive capsule collection that captures ‘the energy and celebrations around the Olympic Games’.
The space will also feature artistic T-shirts created in collaboration with London design agency I Love Dust.
Lagerfeld says the collection’s inspiration is himself: ‘It’s me. I have to be careful not to get too much into it, because I don’t expect everyone to dress like me. That’s why I like this collection with the T-shirts, to make a joke about me, because I think I’m a cartoon.
‘Inspiration is a muscle. This muscle has to be used all the time. The more you do, the more ideas you have. I don’t believe in waiting for inspiration on beaches.’
Selfridges’ creative director Alannah Weston says, ‘To have someone like Karl Lagerfeld working with a store like Selfridges really just shows two meetings of the minds. We both are irreverent as brands, and we really try to work with people who see the lighter side of things.’
VIPs Daphne Guinness, Hilary Alexander (who said Lagerfeld’s presence lent a ‘savoir-faire to the whole kind of idea of Olympic fashion’), Poppy Delevingne, Dudley O’Shaughnessy, Asif Khan, Rosario Dawson, Tallulah Harlech, Harley Viera Newton, Alison Mosshart, also feature in the video.
Selfridges presently has dedicated Karl Lagerfeld windows at its main entrance.

Cheryl Cole’s video for her new song, ‘Under the Sun’, has been released, with a sexy time-warp theme.
The Geordie songstress attracts the attention of every man in the video, which has props and fashions from almost every era from the 1940s to the present day.
While Cole’s 1950s’ costume—a yellow brassière, cream boléro top, red pencil skirt and leopard-print heels—doesn’t change in the video, those around her don everything from 1950s business suits to 2010s schoolgirl uniforms.
She also has a beehive hairdo to complete her 1950s outfit.
Eagle-eyed readers will spot the three classic Citroën cars used in the video: a left-hand drive Ami, and two DSs.
‘Under the Sun’ is the second track released from her album A Million Lights, and is more light-hearted than the first single, ‘Call My Name’.
The single is released on September 3.

De Grisogono’s Tondo by Night watches literally light up from within

A Lucire special promotion

De Grisogono’s jewellery has featured numerous times in Lucire, especially at the Festival de Cannes, but its watches have often been fashion statements of their own.
De Grisogono’s Tondo by Night watches require 45 minutes’ exposure to light, natural or artificial, for them to light up from the inside, thanks to condensed light in the case and buckle material. The composite, called Pearly Photo-luminescent Fibreglass, is exclusive to de Grisogono and features mother-of-pearl particles.
Tondo by Night also features a reversed oscillating weight on the dial side. The Calibre SF 30-89 movement has a 42-hour power reserve.
Forget the metallic look: you can have shiny watches with bright colours—white, yellow, pink, green, purple and orange—in trend with the latest fashions.
Plus there are other precious stones through the self-winding mechanism, mirroring the galuchat stingray hide grain on the strap. There is a black diamond on the crown, 48 gems on the bezel and 60 precious stones arranged in three rows on the oscillating weight. Depending on the model, there are white diamonds, sapphires, tsavorites or amethysts.
The design continues de Grisogono’s modern baroque style, blending classicism with clever technology.
The watches are luminescent and particularly startling at night, be they on the red carpet or at a nightclub.
