Jameson Irish Whiskey, Piaget, Elle USA, and Audi of America have sponsored the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, whose winners were announced Saturday. Top honours went to The Artist, The Descendants and Margin Call, while My Week With Marilyn, Beginners, 50/50, A Separation and The Interrupters also received awards.
   Among the artists honoured were Joel and Ethan Coen, Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, Ashley Judd, Robert Rodriguez, David O. Russell, Edward Burns, Aaron Eckhart, Neil LaBute, Darren Aronofsky, Spike Jonze, Charlie Kaufman, Hilary Swank, Marc Forster, Todd Field, Christopher Nolan, Zach Braff, and Amy Adams.
   The Artist won Best Feature, Best Director, Best Male Lead and Best Cinematography; My Week With Marilyn won Best Female Lead; The Descendants won Best Supporting Female and Best Screenplay; and Beginners won Best Supporting Male.
   Pariah won the John Cassavetes Award; 50/50 won Best First Screenplay; Margin Call won Best First Feature and the Robert Altman Award; A Separation won Best International Film; and The Interrupters won Best Documentary.
