Daul Kim, the South Korean model, was found dead at her Paris apartment on Thursday morning, according to sources.
Initial reports suspect that the model has died by her own hand. [Update, 12.24 GMT: the Associated Press reports that Kim was found hanged in her apartment.]
Kim, who had appeared on international catwalks, was 20. She had kept a blog entitled I Like to Fork Myself.
According to Lucire writer Devin Winter, who visited Kim’s blog just prior to the model’s death, there was no hint of an impending suicide. Her last entry was entitled ‘say hi to forever’ (sic), which might have an extra layer of meaning after her death, but did not at the time.
Earlier this year, Korean actress Jang Ja-yeon, 26, committed suicide. In her suicide note she targeted the Korean entertainment industry and its sexual abuse. Model Kim Ji-hoo, 23, was harassed after coming out, and committed suicide in October 2008.
