The Royal New Zealand Ballet seems more in the Zeitgeist this year than any other we can remember—so much so that it’s getting its own reality TV series.
The Secret Lives of Dancers, produced by Eyeworks, débuts on TV3 in New Zealand on August 31 at 8 p.m.
The new series is narrated by anchorwoman Hilary Barry, revealing not just the rehearsals and training, but the competition for the roles and the devastation an injury can bring to a dancer’s career.
The Royal New Zealand Ballet is supported by the New Zealand Ministry for Culture & Heritage and Meridian Energy.
