Our Milan Fashion Week videos today are from Fendi and Krizia.
Fendi reminds us that you can have too much fur, right down to the astrakhan on the Ipad case. Karl Lagerfeld understands that the Fendi woman isn’t ashamed at showing off, so he kept the brand in an opulent aura for autumn–winter 2012–13. Look beyond the fur, and Lagerfeld delivered some nice details, such as the wide belts, puffed sleeves and peaked shoulders.
Krizia, meanwhile, went with simplicity without excess. The shoulders were, again, emphasized, but other than that, there was little similarity with what we saw at Fendi. Shoulders were boxy, and the rest of the silhouette played it close to the body, with scarves, coats and evening dresses breaking from the figure (the high cuts in the gowns showing off plenty of leg). And, finally, we had a collection that didn’t depend solely on the sombre shades of black: mustard and brown appeared, of course, but also blue, indigo and cream. Leather, denim, cashmere, mohair, viscose, chiffon, silk georgette and jersey feature for autumn–winter.
