Cheryl Cole has given an interview as her new album, A Million Lights, is released, commenting on her single ‘Call My Name’ knocking Gary Barlow’s ‘Sing’ from the number-one position, and saying that she will go ‘all-out’ for her forthcoming tour.
‘It feels kind of surreal. You look at the figures and you can’t quite take it on board,’ she says.
She says that Barlow sent her a congratulatory note after the official sales’ figures for ‘Call My Name’ were released.
On her tour, Cole says, ‘I love visuals. I love big dances and lights, and fireworks … Being on stage is the best feeling ever. There’s nothing else I do in my job that has that feeling, that buzz of being alive.’
Cole also settles the argument about whether her name has changed to simply ‘Cheryl’. ‘It’s just “Cheryl” on the artwork for A Million Lights … On Twitter, I’m still Cheryl Cole; in my passport, I’m still Cheryl Cole.’
