Day eight at the Cannes Film Festival saw plenty of stars at a number of high-profile events at the Festival de Cannes. Aishwarya Rai, Barbara Palvin (showing off her figure in a skin-tight white gown), Araya A. Hargate, Lara Stone (very noticeable in bright pink), Irina Shayk, Sharon Stone, Michel Hazanavicius, Bérénice Bejo, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (in Gucci and de Grisogono diamond briolette earrings), Cara Delevingne, Izabel Goulart, Inna Zobova and Sarah Marshall hit the red carpet for The Search.
Hazanavicius’s screenplay, inspired by Fred Zinnemann’s 1948 film of the same name, moves the action from World War II to the Second Chechen War in 1999, and centres around the trials of a nine-year-old boy, Hadji (Abdul-Khalim Mamatsuiev), who witnesses Russian soldiers murder his parents in Nazran. Annette Bening plays an American who runs an orphanage who tries to help the boy, while Bejo, Hazanavicius’s wife and the star of his earlier film, The Artist, is a French-born, Chechen-based NGO worker who lets Hadji stay with her. Filmed in Georgia, the film has received mixed reviews.

Meanwhile, Magnum (that’s the ice-cream, not the photo agency) has hosted its 25th anniversary party at Cannes, with Kylie Minogue, Amy Willerton, Emma Miller, Kimberley Garner, and Chiara Ferragni in attendance. Roberto Cavalli threw a party at Cannes on day eight, and there was the Puerto Azul Experience Night at Villa St Georges, which Veronica Berti, Andrea Bocelli, Kelly Preston and John Travolta attended. Our first video, however, filed at noon yesterday, is from de Grisogono, which traditionally holds one of the grandest parties at Cannes each year. Look out for Cara Delevingne, Paris Hilton, and Sharon Stone at this year’s dinner party.
