Saben has collaborated with embroidery artist Fleur Woods for its latest limited-edition collection.
The company says it’s their ‘20th business birthday’, commemorating 20 years since it was incorporated. We first encountered Saben and founder Roanne Jacobson in 2001 with their Shopper bag, which we called ‘fashionable enough to please the Hermès crowd.’ The brand has gone from strength to strength since, and it’s long been one of our favourites.
The new collection has been inspired by Woods’ Soul Sisters series, with Saben founder Roanne Jacobson drawn to the spirituality and femininity of the work. ‘[Jacobson’s] goal was to honour the craft and bring the collection to life as a wearable piece of art,’ says the company.
Saben × Fleur Woods comprises mini, midi and maxi silhouettes, in shades of parchment, tan, ivy, terracotta, and black.
It hits stores and Saben’s website at saben.co.nz from August 12.
For its first spring–summer 2022–3 drop, Saben also has its Soul Sisters designs with braided leather and contrasting blanket stitch, among other designs.
