In the build-up to the Miss France telecast on Saturday night, French network TF1 has released a video featuring last year’s winner, Malika Ménard.
The Miss France pageant, now run by Silvio Berlusconi’s Endemol, is going all out with a multimedia campaign. Visitors to the website can enter a competition to win two tickets to the private gala, while two dozen other video segments have been put up. Pageant head Sylvie Tellier has her own Twitter account, mostly with Twitpic links.
The broadcast takes place on Saturday, December 4, at 8.45 p.m. (French time), live from the Zenith at Caen, hosted by veteran French actor Alain Delon.
A rival pageant, Miss Nationale, set up by former Miss France director Geneviève de Fontenay, takes place in Paris the following day.
