A love for vintage and vintage inspired pieces saw to the creation of the New Bohemian boutique. Situated in the beautiful holiday town of Mt Maunganui, it is open Saturday mornings by appointment and provides an easy-to-use website for people not living in that area wanting to purchase something unique.
   New Bohemian stocks carefully picked vintage and vintage-inspired clothing, footwear, accessories, jewellery and menswear. There is a cool range of men’s shirts from the ’50s and ’60s covered in nostalgic patterned textiles along with a neat selection of retro men’s ties, or take a peek into the jewellery box and discover a cute selection of nana-style brooches and delicate ’70s chains and pendants.
   There are also plenty of original woven and tasseled handbags from the hippie era, as well as large retro sunglasses.
   Pictured are a couple of examples of what you will find on the site: a long slinky strapped, black ’80s Oroton clutch purse and a gold metallic scoop neck singlet top.
   A small selection of homewares, from tea and coffee sets to old prints are also on offer. There are enough treasures for any eager vintage collector to choose from, either as a special present for someone or as an unusual addition to your collection.—Vicki Matias
