Philip Glenister, the actor behind DCI Gene Hunt, the most famous fictional Audi driver, and Ashes to Ashes co-star Keeley Hawes, join Bryan Ferry, Gordon Ramsay, Dominic Cooper, Jamie and Louise Rednapp, Rupert Penry Jones, James Cordon, Ronan Keating, Beverley Knight, Davina McCall, Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Jackie Stewart at the opening of the UK’s largest Audi centre today.
The 190,000 ft² Audi Centre in West London represents a £45 million investment by Audi UK, and is located adjacent to the elevated section of the M4. Its seven storeys incorporate three showroom floors capable of displaying 116 cars. The two basement levels, built below the water table level and the River Thames, house a 32-bay workshop and parking facilities. The top two storeys feature a conference centre.
An aluminium installation, weighing nearly a ton, by Gerry Judah, dominates the interior and is suspended between three floors. It took three cranes and two days to install it.
The Centre is operated by the Sytner Group.
