There seems to be a burlesque theme this month. There’s the big-budget Sony Pictures release, Burlesque, starring Cher, Christina Aguilera, Eric Dane, Cam Gigandet, Kristen Bell and Stanley Tucci, and directed by Steve Antin.
Meanwhile, Tournée, directed by Mathieu Amalric (best known for his acting stints in Le scaphandre et le papillon and Quantum of Solace), has just opened in the UK. Unlike the Hollywood effort, Tournée sees real burlesque stars, Mimi Le Meaux, Kitten on the Keys and Dirty Martini, in the main roles.
The UK première of Burlesque took place on Monday night at Leicester Square, with many of its stars present. The film is released in the UK on Friday.
Cher looked glamorous and, from the video, still has that magic in her voice in the theme song.
Newcomer Chelsea Traille is interviewed in the video below, along with Aguilera, Cher, Bell, Gigandet, and director Antin.
