When I photographed the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG last month at its Wellington, New Zealand launch, I thought to myself, ‘I’m a so-so photographer. I wish Doug Rimington were here shooting this car.’ Be careful what you wish for: while Doug didn’t come flying back, he did shoot the SLS AMG outside Somerset House at London Fashion Week spring–summer 2011. Along with various other Mercedes-Benz vehicles (including E-Klasse models and the outgoing CLS 350) used as courtesy cars at the event, plus a lovely Rolls-Royce Ghost so at least a British marque (albeit German-licensed) got a look in.—Jack Yan
