Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Banchan expecting first child

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Banchan are expecting their first child, it was revealed Tuesday on Twitter, by Banchan’s father, Amitabh.
   Rai is reported to be four months’ pregnant.
   The actress has committed to Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine, which she previewed at the Festival de Cannes. Her pregnancy, according to some of the Indian press, is of concern as they race to complete the picture, with Rai’s role to be completed on July 30. There had been speculation earlier about pregnancy from some circles—particularly her choice of clothes at Cannes, which would have hidden a baby bump—though she still looks, on the whole, slim.
   The announcement has set off great interest in Indian media, with an expert predicting that the baby will be due around Rai’s own birthday of November 1.
