It’s day ten and the penultimate day of the Festival de Cannes.
Clouds of Sils Maria, the new film with Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, Chloë Grace Moretz, Johnny Flynn and Hanns Zischler, directed by Olivier Assayas, had positive reviews and was regarded as a strong conclusion to the films in competition at Cannes.
Binoche plays an ageing star, Maria, with Stewart as her PA, and Moretz a young actress who has been cast in a remake of the film that brought Maria her original fame. In the remake, Maria is asked to play the older lover.
Assayas comfortably directs the film focusing on the dynamics between the three principal actors, and especially between Binoche and Stewart.
Among our videos are star Chloë Grace Moretz, on making fun of Hollywood and subverting the genre, and the red-carpet première for the film, which features Stewart, Binoche, Moretz, Assayas, and Quentin Tarantino, Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Amy Willerton and Bianca Balti at the Palais des Festivals.
Ken Loach, who had his Jimmy’s Hall première on day nine, is interviewed below on his work, while Tarantino, in Cannes celebrating 20 years since Pulp Fiction brought him to prominence when he won the Palme d’Or and the 50th anniversary of Sergio Leone’s spaghetti western genre, talks about writing his forthcoming film.
In addition to Sils Maria and Pulp Fiction, the cameras caught Canadian singer Kiesza (with two Montblanc full pavé bracelets in white–red gold and diamonds and a full pavé ring), Araya A. Hargate, Cláudia Vieira and Li Yuchun (李宇春).
